Cruzados Walks and Locks are danced in R Shadow Position, Man and Lady using the same foot

Cruzados Walks

These are two steps forward commenced with either foot and counted "S . S." They may be repeated. The action used is known as the "Cruzados action" and is described here in detail.

Commence, for example, facing LOD, weight on LF with knee flexed. RF extended back with toe and leg turned out and pressure on the inside edge of toe

1 Using pressure through ball of LF, release L heel and commence to straighten knees, moving RF fwd on toe until it is level with LF, at the same time moving pelvis slightly fwd (At this point, body, hips, knees, and toes are facing LOD) a
2 Continue to straighten knees, moving RF fwd on ball of foot, arriving at the "top" of the bounce with R heel lightly in contact with floor, weight central, both legs straight, but not braced S
3 Transfer weight fwd to RF, flexing knee, arriving at the lowest point of the bounce. Allow the back foot and leg to turn out, completing a rotational hip movement. Return pelvis to normal position. Retain tone in back leg with pressure on the inside edge of the toe and

Two or four Cruzados Walks may precede or Follow Cruzados Locks

Cruzados Locks

The foot positions and timing as for Samba Locks, although the front toe is not turned out. There is no turn and they may commence with either foot. The Cruzados action on the Locks is described in detail below (Note points 1, 2, and 5 below are points 1, 2, and 3 described for Cruzados Walks above)
